Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Debating and public speaking help students develop critical thinking, clear communication, and confidence. They promote teamwork and collaboration, enhance leadership skills, and encourage respectful, thoughtful engagement—benefiting students academically and personally. These experiences also prepare students to effectively navigate real-world situations by fostering problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
Kitchen Garden
Our Kitchen Garden Program offers students hands-on experience in growing and caring for a variety of fruits and vegetables. Through nurturing the garden and harvesting fresh produce, students gain valuable skills and knowledge about healthy food. They then bring their harvest into the kitchen, where they learn to prepare and cook nutritious meals, fostering a deeper connection to food from garden to table.
Excursions
Our students love stepping outside the classroom to discover, learn, and experiment with new experiences. These opportunities support their growth, boost their confidence, and help them understand how their learning relates to the wider world.
Sports Carnivals
Each year, we join forces with Huntingdon, Comboyne, Upper Rollands Plains, and Long Flat Public Schools to hold combined swimming, athletics, and cross country carnivals. These events provide students with the opportunity to compete, showcase their skills, and foster a strong sense of community. Outstanding performers may progress to represent our school at district, regional, and state levels.
The Great Aussie Bush Camp
Each year, our Stage 3 students come together with peers from our 3MAPS schools for an exciting camp experience. This special event is filled with fun activities, team-building challenges, and opportunities to make new friendships. It’s a wonderful chance for students to grow, collaborate, and create lasting memories beyond the classroom.
